Following the documentary, several episodes will follow with even more topics and dozens of paintings and drawings by several post-impressionist painters who moved in groups around Paul Gauguin and were involved in Symbolism, Cloisonnism, Synthetism and later also Fauvism.
Review Cultuur Verbindt Roosendaal, Project Leader Lieke van Pruijssen: With the project “Let the Late Drawings and Paintings Tell”, Claudia Koole – Gratias Art immerses herself in the life story of Vincent van Gogh and focuses her attention on the famous “ear incident”. Through in-depth research and interesting perspectives, she sketches a new view and alternative scenario to the prevailing art history. What started as a small project has grown into a true life’s work, and Koole’s great dedication to her subject and to Van Gogh as a person is admirable.
